Open a new image 700 x 425, transparent. Foreground Color #E5DED6. Background Color #545A30. Open and minimize samples supplied ready for use. Remember to save your work after every step. 1. Ceiling: a) Add new layer, Selections, load from disk, flood fill #E5DED6. b) Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast, 35, 0. Deselect. Save. 2. Carpet: a) Add new layer, Selections, load from disk, flood fill #545A30. b) Effects, Texture Effects, Texture, My Paper, Size 100%, Smoothness 0, Depth 1, Ambience 0, Shininess 0, Color White, Angle 336, Intensity 50, Elevation 31, OK. Deselect. Save. 3. Wall - Back: a) Add new layer, Selections, load from disk, flood fill #E5DED6. b) Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast, -15, 0. Deselect. Save. 4. Window- Small: a) Open the wood sample and set it up in Styles, Background, Angle 90, Scale 100. Add new layer, Selections, load from disk, flood fill with wood. b) Effects, 3D, Inner Bevel, Round, Width 1, Smoothness 13, Depth 1, Ambience 0, Shininess 0, Color White, Angle 0, Intensity 50, Elevation 30. Deselect. Save. (We will do the glass later) 5. Wall - Behind Stairs: a) Add new layer, Selections, load from disk, flood fill #E5DED6. Deselect. 6. Stairs: a) Add new layer, Selections, load from disk. b) Open image supplied, Edit, Copy, close small image, Edit, Paste Into Selection. Deselect. Save. 7. Wall - Middle: Add new layer, Selections, load from disk, flood fill #CDBCAF. Deselect. 8. Cupboard - Top (1) a) Add new layer, Selections, load from disk. b) Open image supplied, Edit, Copy, minimize small image, Edit, Paste Into Selection. Deselect. Save. 9. Cupboard - Lower: a) Same layer, Selections, load from disk, Edit, Paste Into Selection. Deselect. b) Edit, Copy, Paste as New Layer, use mover tool to place on other side of doorway. Save. 10. Cupboards - Top (2) a) Add new layer, Selections, load from disk. b) Open cupboard image supplied, Edit, Copy, minimize small image, Edit, Paste Into Selection. Deselect. c) Edit, Paste as New Selection, use mover tool, place it to the left, align the top with Cupboards - Top (1). d) Edit, Copy, Edit, Paste as New Selection, place these two sets of cupboards below the others, giving you a total of four sets. Deselect. 11. Mirrors: a) No color choices needed for mirrors. Styles, Background, choose Gradient, Edit, choose Metallic, Angle 315, Repeats 0, Invert box UNchecked, OK. b) Add new layer, Selections, load from disk. flood fill with gradient. c) Edit, copy, paste as new layer, and move to other identical section. Deselect. Save. 12. Bar: Add new layer, Selections, load from disk. flood fill with wood sample, same settings. Deselect. Save. 13. Bar - Top: a) Add new layer, Selections, load from disk. flood fill, #000000. Deselect. b) Layers, Duplicate. (They will be sitting on top of each other). Image, Rotate, Right, Free 2, all layers box UNchecked. Use mover tool to place along the top of bar hiding the jagged edge. c) Use mover tool to click on the duplicated bar, highlighting it, Image, Rotate, Right, Free 15. Place at lower edge of bar. Save. 14. Bench Tops: Add new layer, Selections, load from disk. flood fill, #000000. Deselect. 15. Wall Left: a) Add new layer, Selections, load from disk, flood fill #E5DED6. Deselect. b) Draw tool, single line, Size 2, Antialias checked, cover the jagged edges at the top and base of the wall. Save. 16. Window - Large: a) Open the wood sample and set it up in Styles, Background, Angle 90, Scale 100. Add new layer, Selections, load from disk, flood fill with wood. b) Effects, 3D, Inner Bevel, Round, same settings. Deselect. Save. 17. Glass: a) You should still be on the Window layer, Magic Wand, click outside the window area, Selections, Invert, Selections, Modify, Contract 2. b) Add a new layer. Foreground #FFFFFF, Background #C0C0C0. Styles, Background, Gradient, Edit, choose #1 Foreground-Background, Linear, Angle 315, Repeats 0, Invert box UNchecked, flood fill with wood sample. Deselect. c) Layers palette, move glass layer below Window layer, and lower the layer opacity to 30. Save. d) Repeat the same again for the smaller Window. Save. Well done.
