Open a New Image 700 x 425, transparent. Flood fill with Black (we will
change this later). 1. Floor: 2. Steps: 3. Railing: 4. Pillars: 5. Background:
Open the marble sample, minimize. Background Styles, marble sample, Scale 100,
Angle 0.
a) Add new layer, Flood fill with your marble pattern.
b) Deformation tool, hold down ctrl key, click on top left node and slide
right to 100 (on your top ruler. Release ctrl).
c) Click on top middle node, and slide down to 300 (on your left ruler).
d) Using the middle side nodes stretch your marble to cover full area.
e) Using your mover tool, move it to the top part of your screen. With your
Retouch Tool, Soften, along the bottom edge of the floor. (This softens the
harsh line). Move the floor back to the bottom of the screen.
Name and save your work.
a) Highlight Floor layer, Selection Tool, Rectangle, starting at 0,400, move
right
to 700, 425. Edit, Copy, Paste as new layer, Selections, none.
b) Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast -60, 0. Move this strip to the bottom
of
your screen.
c) Layer palette, duplicate, (it will be sitting on top of your other step),
use your
mover tool to line the top edge of this strip with your left ruler at 350.
You now have two steps. Turn off layer one (black) and floor layer.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Rename this layer Steps.
d) Highlight your Floor layer and duplicate, and move it to the top of the
other
part of the floor. Leave no gap. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Rename Floor.
Turn on Layer 1 (Black). Save. (The softening of the floor you did in step one,
now gives a smoother join of the two pieces of the floor.)
a) Add new layer, selections, load from disk, Flood fill with marble.
b) Colors adjust, brightness/contrast -20, 0.
c) Apply Inner Bevel, Round, Width 1, Smoothness 50, Depth 1, Ambience -8,
Shininess 0, Color White, Angle 342, Intensity 45, Elevation 35, OK.
Selections, none. Save.
a) Add a new layer, Selections, Load from disk, Flood fill with marble.
Selections, Float.
b) Effects, Cutout, Vertical 10, Horizontal 10, Opacity 28, Blur 20, Color
Black, OK. Repeat the Cutout with Vertical -10, Horizontal -10. Leave selected.
c) Using your selection tool, remove the dark area at the top and base of the
Pillar,
then using your Retouch Tool, Soften, and move it across the base of the Pillar
to
soften the harsh line.
d) Layer palette, Duplicate three times. Move the Pillars into place. (Using
your
mover tool. Use your Deformation tool to increase height if required). Save.
a) Highlight Layer 1 (Black). Set Foreground Styles to Gradient, Edit, Summer
Field, Angle 0, Repeats 0, Invert UNchecked and Flood fill your screen.
b) Using your mover tool, slide the blue sky up until the horizon is above the
railing. Save.
Well done your finished. Enjoy decorating your Balcony.
